Jamie Gittens continues to await his first Premier League action of the current season as the Chelsea winger looks to establish himself in the squad. The attacker has not featured in top-flight competition so far this term, following a debut campaign in English football where playing time proved hard to consistently secure.
Gittens originally completed his high-profile move to Stamford Bridge from German outfit Borussia Dortmund in July 2025. Chelsea secured his signature for an initial transfer fee of £48.5 million plus add-ons, alongside potential performance-related add-ons included in the deal. The agreement bound the winger to a substantial long-term contract running through until 2032, and he was allocated the club's No. 11 shirt upon his arrival.
His official debut in the Premier League arrived on August 17, 2025, when he featured during a goalless draw against Crystal Palace. Throughout the entirety of the 2025-26 campaign, Gittens logged a total of 16 league appearances for the Blues, contributing two assists while searching for his first goal in the division.
Despite embarking on his second full campaign in West London, the former Dortmund player has yet to step onto the pitch in a Premier League fixture this season. With seven years remaining on his contract, Gittens will be aiming to break back into matchday contention and build upon his initial top-flight tally as Chelsea navigate their domestic schedule.
